15 Questions to Ask Before Booking Your Wedding Photographer


A wedding photographer will be one of your most important vendors for your big day. We have a compiled a list of questions that you should ask prior to signing your contract with this super important vendor. Check out our list and feel free to comment with other questions you think are important.

  1. Do you have my date available? NOTE: There really is no point in going much further in the conversation if they are not able to photograph your wedding on the date you have planned.
  2. How far in advance do I need to book you? How much is the deposit?
  3. How long have you been a professional photographer?
  4. Do you work with someone else or have a second shooter?
  5. Have you ever shot at my venues? If so, can I see samples of your work at those locations?
  6. Have you ever worked with any of my other vendors?
  7. May I have a list of references or former brides that you have recently worked with?
  8. What is your photography style? How would you describe your perspective on wedding photography?
  9. Can I provide you with a list of shots I would like you to try to get?
  10. Are there any additional costs that I should be aware of?
  11. What packages do you have? If what you have does not meet my needs can you customize a package for me?
  12. How long is your turnaround time for editing?
  13. What is your refund/cancellation policy?
  14. Do you have liability insurance?
  15. Do you offer a photo booth?
