Weddings surrounding the holidays can be a positive thing for many couples, where others see it as a negative. Some people would rather not share their wedding anniversary with a major holiday. For some the thought of receiving less gifts, conflicting with holiday programs and events, etc is not their ideal. However, there are some major advantages to getting married around the holidays.
1. It is cheaper! The holiday season is commonly referred to as the off season for weddings. You can expect to book many of your vendors at a lower rate if you plan to get married during the fall or winter.
2. Time Off! Are you planning to go on a honeymoon after the wedding? You could plan to go when you already have scheduled time off for work due to a holiday. Your guests may also be able to attend your event for the same reason!
3. Never forget your anniversary! How can you forget a date the coincides with a major holiday?
4. Combination gifts! While some would frown at the thought of getting one gift for Christmas and a wedding anniversary, you could suggest that your spouse upgrade the gift to cover both occasions instead. On the other hand, it could be nice and less expensive to get your spouse one gift or combination gifts as well.
5. It's cuddle season! What a perfect time to unite with the love of your life and have your cuddle buddy for life just in time for the cold weather!
