7 Mistakes Bridesmaids Typically Make

Source

Wedding planning is such an exciting, albeit stressful time for many brides. She is counting on her girls to be there for support and encouragement. However, there are often times when a bridesmaid steps out of line or makes a crucial mistake that drives the bride crazy momentarily. Check out the following 7 mistakes you should avoid as a bridesmaid or prepare yourself for as a bride.

1. RSVP'ing for a plus one that the couple did not invite. Many couples have a strict list of guests based on their budgets. Adding extra people, particularly last minute can cause things to into a tail spin. As a bridesmaid, just avoid this completely if you can. Discuss with the bride in advance your desire to bring a date to the wedding and respect her response.

2. Disappearing Act. Some bridesmaids tend to go completely MIA leading up to the wedding when the bride needs help, or even during the wedding- neglecting her bridesmaid duties. It is normal for things to happen that requires our attention and the wedding is not necessarily everyone's priority. Just be sure to check in with the bride from time to time during and before the wedding to see if she needs anything.

3. Getting drunk before or at the wedding. No bride wants to deal with a drunken bridesmaid. Can you imagine the stress of worrying about a bridesmaid on the day of your wedding? Do yourself and the bride a favor and avoid the drinks until an appropriate time and place.

4. Posting pictures of the bride getting ready. Most brides do not want anyone to see her before she walks down the aisle, especially not the groom. Wait until after the wedding to post pictures or get permission from the bride before posting.

5. Waiting until the last minute to buy bridesmaid dress. Of course this is only an issue when there is no financial issue but just an issue of laziness or being absentminded. Get it out of the way as soon as you can so you do not have it hanging over your head.

6. Fighting with the other bridesmaids. Anytime you get a group of ladies together there is the potential for drama, but there does not have to be. If you have an issue with someone in the bridal party try to instead focus on making the bride happy and push past the drama.

7. Don't be too picky. No one likes the annoying bridesmaid who does not like anything. Do everyone a favor and roll with whatever the bride chooses within reason.
